Department of Agricultural Technology

About the Department

Department of Agricultural Engineering was established to fulfill the growing need for competent Agricultural engineers in the present era of agricultural and rural development at the state as well as national level. To achieve this objective, the curriculum has been designed through close interaction of faculty members with experts from agricultural industries, research organizations, and farming communities.

To provide practical exposure and hands-on experience, laboratories are developed with modern equipment and facilities. The department possesses laboratories in the areas of Farm Machinery, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Renewable Energy Sources, Post-Harvest Technology, Food Processing, and Agricultural Measurement & Instrumentation.

For the overall development of students, the department follows a holistic approach that includes career guidance, industrial visits, field training, agricultural exhibitions, and participation in professional society activities along with academic learning. Faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in both academic and practical agricultural applications. Industrial and institutional collaborations are strengthened through MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) with organizations related to irrigation systems, farm equipment manufacturing, food processing, and agro-based industries.

The department aims to serve all sections of society by offering quality education and skill development through various programs such as Diploma, B. Tech., M. Tech., and Ph. D. in Agricultural Engineering.

Vision

To emerge as a center of excellence in agricultural technology education, fostering innovative engineers who drive sustainable farming practices and rural prosperity in harmony with global technological advancements.

Mission

1. To impart quality education blending agricultural engineering, precision technologies, and management skills for enhancing farm productivity and food security. 2. To promote research, entrepreneurship, and industry collaboration for developing eco-friendly agro-solutions tailored to rural and societal needs. 3.
